ABOUT BUF
As the third busiest airport in the state of New York, the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport (BUF) serves Buffalo, New York and the southern Golden Horseshoe region of Ontario, Canada. The airport opened in 1926 on former farmland, and during World War II, it expanded to facilitate aircraft manufacturing and airline flights.
Currently, BUF has two paved runways. In late 2017, the airport began an $80 million renovation with more than 54,000 square feet of new space. The expansion project includes new secure walkways on the east and west side of the terminal and more curbside space for arriving and departing passengers.
BUF carriers include American Airlines, American Eagle, Delta Air Lines, Delta Connection, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, United Airlines, United Express, and Vacation Express.
