Trolley Tour Hop on a trolley from Molly’s Trolleys and discover all that Pittsburgh has to offer. One of the sites that you will get to see while on the tour is the famous Duquesne Incline, which is a cable railway that allows its cars to scale steep Mount Washington while staying horizontal. You can more than just see this cable railway, though, you can also ride it—which is no small feat when the Duquesne Incline has been operating since 1877. Nationality Rooms The Nationality Rooms are all classrooms located at the University of Pittsburgh, but they are not ordinary classrooms by any stretch of the imagination. Each room represents a different country that Allegheny County settlers hailed from and is decorated to reflect that country’s culture. From an English-style room to an Indian classroom, the Nationality Rooms show an amazing level of detail and will transport you to another world each time you step into one of the rooms. Carnegie Museum of Natural History If you want to soak up even more culture, then head to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. View real dinosaur fossils, learn about North American wildlife, and find out more about Ancient Egypt. Botany Hall focuses on American vegetation and what types of plants grow in different parts of the country. There’s also the Hillman Hall of Minerals and Gems, which has over 1,300 minerals and gems on display. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Take a step back from the city and get back to nature. If you have ever been interested in bonsai trees, then Phipps is a great place to view the tiny trees up close.
