Cheri Whiteside and Jack Leutz met and got engaged on The Parking Spot airport shuttle

What’s more romantic than meeting the love of your life on a dream vacation? Dallas residents Cheri Whiteside and Jack Leutz may have figured out the answer: Meeting the love of your life on an airport shuttle bound for The Parking Spot.

Whiteside and Leutz were married on July 28, four years after meeting on The Parking Spot airport shuttle in Dallas, Texas. Cheri was home from a whirlwind trip to New York; Jack was returning from visiting family in Colorado. Jetlagged and dressed down, the two struck up a conversation about their matching grey sneakers, playing kickball and a mutual love of Mexican food.

"It was just serendipity that it worked out. I missed my intended airport transportation lot. As a result, I ended up at the Parking Spot, and on Jack’s shuttle,” Whiteside said. “If I had taken a cab or parked in the other lot, we never would’ve met. It just seemed like we were meant to meet.”

Simply put, Whitesite and Leutz hit it off. In September 2011, the couple found themselves back on The Parking Spot shuttle, headed to Colorado Springs to visit his family in Woodland Park. To get them to the airport, Leutz had reserved a covered spot, private shuttle and personal chauffeur – the local Parking Spot general manager. As Whiteside rifled through luggage and boarding passes, their song began to play, and Jack got down on one knee. As they say, the rest is history.

“This is such a classic story of two people being in the right place at the right time,” said Mark P. Wildman, Senior Vice President of Marketing for The Parking Spot. “Where you park does matter, and in this case, two strangers felt comfortable enough on our shuttle to strike up what turned out to be a life-changing conversation. We’re honored to be a part of their story."

Whiteside and Leutz tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony in Woodland Park, Colo. The Parking Spot’s black and yellow spotted shuttle played a role in the couple’s big day, transporting the wedding party to and from the venue and reception. Now, the two are paradise-bound—The Parking Spot helped to make the couple’s honeymoon to Maui possible.
